Beef gravy
Ingredients
- Roux
- 5 tablespoons Butter
- 8 tablespoons Flour
- 3 tablespoons drippings Or 2 teaspoons Better Than Bouillion Beef
- Spices
- 3 1/2 teaspoons Garlic
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
- Broth
- 4 cups Beef stock
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 cup Red wine
- 1 1/2 cup Cream
Instructions
- Combine spices in a bowl, set aside
- Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat
- Whisk in flour until smooth
- Cook until golden
- Add spices
- Whisk in Woresterhire sauce
- Cook for another minute
- Slowly whisk in beef stock
- Add red wine
- Whisk in cream
- Simmer for 5 minutes stirring constantly until desired consistency
