Steak Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1 small onion, minced (about 2/3 cup)
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup vinegar (can reduce slightly)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper (optional or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes or more.
  3. Adjust ingredient amounts to taste.
  4. Strain if desired.
  5. Cover and refrigerate 24 hours or more.
