Savory Salsbury Steak

Ingredients

  • 2 slices white bread crusts removed, cubed
  • 1/4 cup Onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Parsley fresh, finely shopped
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbs Onion soup mix
  • 1 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 2 cloves Garlic pressed
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/4 lbs Ground beef lean 90%
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • Vegetables ~~amp Sauce
  • 2 medium Carrots peeled
  • 1/2 cup Onion diced
  • 3 cups O~quoteBrien Potatoes frozen
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 package Mushroom sliced (8 oz)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Beef broth
  • 3 tbsp Onion soup mix

Instructions

  1. 1 For patties, cobine bread, onion, parsley, egg, soup mix, tomato paste, pressed garlic and Worcestershire suce ; mix well. Add beef; mix well. Shape beef mix into siz oval shaped patties about 1/2 inch thick. Add oil to skillet; heat over med heat 1-3 min or until shimmering. Place patties in skillet; cook 3-4 minutes each side or until browned. Remove patties from skillet; keep warm.
  2. 2. For vegy’s and sauce, dice carrots, & onion. Add potatoes to skillet; cook 4-5 min or until beginning to brown . Add carrots & onion; cook 4-5 min or until crisp tender. Stir in tomato past. Add mushroom; cook 3-4 minuytes until mushrooms begin to soften. Add broth and soup mix; bring to simmer.
  3. 3. Add patties back into skillet. Reduce heat to med; simmer 4-6 min until center of patties are no longer pink and temp is above 160 degrees.
