HUNTER’S BEEF

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds round steak cut 3/4“ thick
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 3 stalks celery finely chopped
  • 1 buch green onions chopped
  • 1/3 cup red wine
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. red pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt & pepper. With a mallet, pound seasoned flour into meat. Heat oil in a wide frying pan over medium-high heat. Add meat. Brown well on both sides.
  2. Scatter celery and green onions over meat.
  3. Combine wine, soy sauce, ginger, cinnamong & red pepper in a cup. Pour over meat. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Cover & put in a 375` oven for 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender when pierced.
  5. To serve, spoon vegetables and sauce over meat.
