Slow cooked Irish Beef stew

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks Celery
  • 1 Onion
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 2 Carrot
  • 1 tin chopped tomato
  • 20 gram herb and mushroom seasoning
  • 20 grams stock powder
  • 4 Potato
  • 10 gram mixed herbs
  • 500 gram diced beef
  • 40 gram red wine jus
  • 1 jar Mustard

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice celery and onion. Chop garlic. Roughly chop carrot.
  2. In a medium bowl combine diced beef, 2tbs plain flour, and pinch salt and pepper.
  3. On saute mode in slow cooker cook celery and onion with a drizzle olive oil for 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl. Brown beef with a drizzle olive oil for 4 minutes, transfer to a plate.
  4. Return celery and onion to the pot, and garlic and herb seasoning and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add carrot, tin tomato, stock powder, red wine jus, 1 tsp brown sugar, 1 cup water, and the beef. Slow cook for at least 4 hours.
  6. Make mash potatoes with milk and butter, add some mustard for taste.
  7. Sprinkle herbs over when serving.
