Steak and strawberry salad
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 x 200g (7oz) sirloin steaks
- 1/2 cucumber
- 150g (5oz) strawberries, halved
- 110 g salad leaves
- 3 tbsp. sour cream
- 1 tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1 tsp. white wine vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp. caster sugar
- 1 tbsp. poppy seeds
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a high heat. Pat the steak dry with kitchen paper, season well and fry for 5-6min, turning once, for medium meat (cook for shorter or longer if you prefer). Lift steaks out and set aside.
- Slice the cucumber in half lengthways, scoop out seeds and cut into rough slices. Put in a large serving bowl with the strawberries and salad leaves.
- In a small jug or jar, mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar and poppy seeds. Season to taste.
- Slice the steaks thinly, then add to the salad. Drizzle over dressing and toss to combine. Serve with toasted ciabatta, if you like.
